SUPER MEGA FUN TIME BAND - (Street Bluesy Funk Rock)

SMFTB  are Joe Duncan and Chris Senner they are a newly formed duo derived from a band called Husk that sadly disbanded last year. Joe is a highly energetic, skilfully talented drummer. Not only that but he has self-constructed his "suitcase" kit. Purposely built for street gigging/busking easy to travel and setup and pack back down in a jiffy and move on should we need to. Joe's style of playing is perfect for the street vibe, funky, urban and versatile he's ready to entertain. Mix that with my upbeat rhythmically percussive riff laden guitar style, with soul rasp vocals crossing from blues to funk to rock to contemporary and original material, SMFTB form a great alternative lively piece of live entertainment that brings the street to the stage and vice versa.

Primo Nelson

Primo Nelson are an original, hard hitting, funk inspired, groove movement of heavy horns ripping riffs through a thumping funk core, husky tones and so much more!

David Woodcock is a singer-songwriter based in his hometown of Southend-on-Sea. A pianist and prolific writer, with a strong local following, he has been building up a solid songbook of sharp lyrics and great melodies that have been distilled into his self-titled debut album.

His self-titled album includes the singles, ‘Same Things’, ‘Beggars Can’t Be Choosers’ and 'Open, both of which have had strong radio support from key UK tastemakers, Steve Lamacq – "A great little pop record" – (BBC 6 Music), John Kennedy (Xfm X-posure Hot One) and Gary Crowley (BBC London + Amazing Radio).

David's songs are steeped in the classic British song writing tradition epitomised by the likes of Ray Davies, Steve Harley and Ian Dury. Lyrics filled with humour, pathos, wry observations and a riotous energy – in David’s music there’s certainly an air of Ian Hunter rockin’ it up with Mott The Hoople, Vivian Stanshall as a drunken Harry Nilsson, Pete Doherty with a clean bill of health or Damon Albarn in young, cocky scamp mode. Live, David works the room to the max. He gives us tales of lost love, lust, jealousy, memories, regrets and of living life to its messy limits and all the consequences that entails.

On record the energy remains. Turn it on, pour a drink and revel in the world of David Woodcock

TUPPENNY BUNTERS – Anarchic Music Hall

The act known as Tuppenny Bunters started life as half of noughties Southend beat scene regulars The Virgo Intacta.
Having gone about as far as they were gonna go, a five year odyssey of guerrilla gigs, coach trips, radio sessions and a support tour with The White Stripes, the band finally ran out of steam as the train pulled into The Railway Hotel, a 140 year old folly that Dave had seen fit to purchase because his Top Hat had landed on it. Once the dust had settled, Dave Dulake and Fi Jacobs got their mojo back, bought a Hohner Pianet, got married and put together a couple of hours of tunes, as varied and eclectic an act as a night at a Victorian music hall. For here we have two musicians, wreaking sonic lullabies out of some real life vintage instruments, swapping vocals and from drums to piano at the flick of a tailored cuff; turning on a sixpence from too-fast jazz standards to beat ballads to deftly written originals to musical theatre classics to crowd-pleasers to cult gems.

Howling Black Soul are a power-house trio like they used to do. 'Free' meets 'Black Sabbath' with a 1972 valve amp thrown in for good measure.

THE DUSTY PEDDLERS – Folk Rock’n’Roll

The Dusty Peddlers, "That Little Ol' Band" from Leigh-on-Sea, are best known for their stomping sound, offering unique and quirky versions of various popular and obscure music, new and old. With their standout on-stage look comprising of bowler hats, long tailed jackets and polished brogues, together with their sound, they really offer a feast for a good time. The Dusty Peddlers, with original and founding members, Scott Pryor on vocals and guitar and Jan Tickell rocking out the double bass, their journey started as a three piece with an exceptional, albeit flamboyant, violinist writing and recording original material which led to the release of a well-received EP ’Dreams by the sea’.

After the violinist made an unexpected departure from the band to do a bit of bird, The Dusty Peddlers took a new and exciting turn, enlisting the legendary percussionist Toby Duffin, trumpet player Paul Carver as well as getting the amazing talent of local Jazz guitarist Daniel Parker on board. Of course bowler hats, bow ties and the odd balloon was a mandatory. The Dusty Peddlers really elevated the sound of stomping country, folk and rock 'n' roll and good time music was born.

The Dusty Peddlers haven been fortunate enough to play some amazing gigs, headlining the Leigh folk festival and playing some amazing venues in London and have even been spotted playing and walking through Leigh's old town with an entire wedding party following.

Whatever the occasion, you can be sure that The Dusty Peddlers will rip apart the modern textures of popular rock/pop/dance tunes and put them back together with the Dusty Peddlers flavour. With their unique sense of humour, attitude and crowd interaction you’ll come away from a Peddlers gig with one of two things, a smile or an achy wooden leg.
